Silly Siblings

Journalling reads:

I wish I could remember what set Heidi and Stefan off into fits of laughter and such silliness.

Regardless of what sparked their craziness, I'm so glad that I had the camera on hand to capture the moment.

It typifies the wonderful relationship that these two share. They are there for each other, not only for fun and crazy times, but are constantly amazing us, their teachers and our friends with their closeness, often demonstrating how supportive and
caring they are towards each other.

During the years that have passed since this day there have been countless similar moments of togetherness.

I wish you countless more!

Here's a link to the template I created for this layout http://www.box.net/shared/97t8iz49iuejcza32zds
that was inspired by a layout (and freebie) from Cathy Zeilske: http://cathyzielske.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/11/a-post-halloween-free-download-for-you.html

Pumpkin Carving Retrospective

Thanks to a scrapbooking blog, http://cathyzielske.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/11/a-post-halloween-free-download-for-you.html, I had some great inspiration for a Halloween layout. It was so fun going back to gather 10, yes TEN, years of digital Halloween images to include.

travel

I created this for a Library of Memories challenge: create a layout with summer 2011 photos. Travel seemed to be a good word for Summer 2011. So many of my favourite memories involve travel; and my most favourite travel memories of all are of camping with Roland, Heidi and Stefan. I have included a link to download the Photoshop paper and templates that I created for this layout here

Friends

I created this layout as part of a Library of Memories challenge - to create a scrapbook page using photos from October 2010. The Library of Memories class is offered only once a year at here at Big Picture Classes and is taught by Stacy Julian and the page layout idea was inspired by a fun, free, Big Idea Festival 10-day series of Words to Live By. I am trying to complete my 10 pages from that festival, plus add a new word layout each week.

I'm sharing my Photoshop templates for my layout here

Fall Photographs 001-017

I've started (and hope to continue) taking a series of orangish/fall-themed photos this October. I had an "I Love ..." series back in February and a 'Glimpse of Green' series in March. My planned 'Sign of Spring' series for May didn't actually materialize. Here's the first batch of my 'Fall Photographs'.

Give

I participated in Big Picture Classes online free Big Idea Festival 15-26 August. A different instructor shared their 'word' along with some of their ideas about what the word means to them as well as their sample scrapbook page(s) for inspiration. I'm partially through creating my scrapbook pages using the words.
Give was the Day 4 word on Thursday 18 August.
I hope to continue this idea by introducing a 'Word of the Week Wednesday' challenge here on my blog, where I will share a Photoshop .psd file with a new word each week (on Wednesday) which will include a linky tool for others to share their creations.

Shadow Shot #6 - 2011-05-06

I loved how my butterflies' shadows were dancing on the kitchen table this morning. I wish I'd had more time to play with these shadows and reflections. After uploading photo I noticed the extra butterfly reflections on patio door and the bag shadows on the kitchen floor.

Right Now #2 - 2010 05 06 - 11:07 p.m.

Heidi's ready to turn her lights out and have a quick cuddle with me. I've been reading other people's blog entries instead of writing my own. Roland and Stef are up at the cottage.

Shadow Shot #4 - 2011-04-06

When photographing Stefan playing basketball on the driveway next door, I noticed my shadow against our garage door.

Shadow Shot #3 - 2011-04-03

When taking a photo of the trophy Stefan won last night when his team won the playoffs, I noticed what a great shadow it was casting.

Shadow Shot #2 - 2011-04-02

The sun wasn't in the right place for the shadow of our chair, but I still thought it was pretty neat to see our skis and poles framing the shadow below.

Shadow Shot #1 - 2011-03-30

Just a few days after discovering Shadow Shot Sunday I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and noticed my shadow on the wall, and the reflection of that shadow in the mirror. I wish I'd had more time to experiment with creative photos of these shadows.

Right Now #1 - 2010 04 21 - 9:20 p.m.

Right now: We're all busy using technology in different ways.

Right now: I'm updating my blogs in the basement office/spare room.

Right now: Heidi and Oma are watching an old Glee episode on her laptop in Roland's old bedroom.

Right now: Stefan is practicing yo-yo tricks in the kitchen - the how-to video playing on his laptop.

Right now: Roland's watching Montreal in the playoffs with his dad in the basement.
